Spring Term PR Portfolio Reviews

We design the portfolio reviews to serve as a trial for our senior Public Relations Majors embarking on the search for their first professional job. The students have the opportunity to present some of their key projects and receive valuable feedback from PR professionals on their class work (including their work in PR Campaigns), internships and professional projects, along with evaluation on their personal presentation styles.

Each reviewer will participate on a panel with two or three of your peers. Each panel will, in turn, see one student per hour over the course of the review process

The review appointments are 45 minutes long (with 10 minutes of flex time between each appointment). The student will provied your panel with a 5 to 10 minute opportunity to go over the portfolio, then the student will present their portfolio in about 15 to 20 minutes. Following the presentation, the student leaves the room and the reviewers have an opportunity to discuss and agree on the feedback they would like to give the student. After about 5 minutes or so, the student returns and has the opportunity engage with the reviewers to learn how he or she can improve the presentation, the portfolio or both. Reviewers fill in an evaluation form during the course of the review.

This wiki will give portfolio reviewers and students all the information needed to prepare for the Winter Term portfolio reviews.

For reviewers:
  • Logistics. How to get the University of Oregon or the Portland Turnbull Center and where to park.
  • Eugene Schedule. A detailed schedule, including the names of your co-panelists and the students
  • Portland Schedule. A detailed schedule includingthe names of your co-panelists and the students
  • Evaluation forms. Preview the evaluation forms. Don't worry about printing them, though. We'll provide copies.
For students:
  • Contacts. Email addresses for your reviewers (and other reviewers)
  • Eugene Schedule. Detailed schedule including the names of all your reviewers
  • Portland Schedule. Detailed schedule including the names of all your reviewers
  • Evaluation forms. Preview the evaluation forms reviewers will be completing for each student.
  • Tips for preparing for the review (what your portfolio should look like, what you should wear, etc.)
